Mark joined Quinn Architects in 2014 after graduating from a Masters in Architecture Degree at Cork Centre for Architectural Education (CCAE). Mark has gained nine years architectural experience including valuable experience in a firm based in Christchurch, New Zealand which focused on sustainable design and the refurbishment of earthquake-damaged buildings. Having worked in the Irish construction industry since 2014, Mark has gained a strong base of knowledge in relation to the design, regulations and procurement processes in the Irish construction industry.
During this time with Quinn Architects, Mark has been involved in a variety of projects including educational, healthcare, residential and office fit-out developments. He has taken the lead designer role from initial concept to client handover on a number of projects in the office with the Child & Family Centre in Limerick and Athy Primary Care Centre being two of the larger projects.
Mark has a particular interest in energy efficient design which has evolved from the completion of a Retrofitting Multi-Storey Buildings course in Germany back in 2015 and more recently the completion of a Postgraduate Certificate in Building Performance – Energy Efficiency in Design course through TU Dublin in 2020. High quality, functional and energy efficient design is at the forefront of Mark’s focus.
